EquiGym Treadmills

USE OF THE TREADMILL

This Powerful, indoor horse conditioning machine will enable trainers to control the speeds, duration and intensity of their horses exercise while training on a stable, consistent and forgiving surface.

Manage every physiological stressor during the training work-out, e.g. aerobic, anaerobic, and strength training

Accurately and repeatably collect data in order to evaluate the efficency of the training program for the individual horse.

Facilitate regular stress testing to assess the timely development of athletic fitness.

Scientifically summarize the inherited athletic makeup of young horses during their yearling year, before they are broke to ride; thus allowing for better business decisions regarding the individuals future training.

As a tool, the High Speed Treadmill has been scientifically proven to replicate the full range of motion of the horse in a controlled environment, therefore, making it a powerful modality when used during the active rehabilitation of injuries.

Veterinary diagnostics of the upper airway at full racing speed will allow for a more accurate assesment for corrective procedures. Lameness exams can be viewed, videod and assesed from any angle at any speed.

Dynamic hoof balancing involves video taping the horse's foot fall at various speeds, then replaying in slow motion to aid the farrier in correctly balancing the foot for the activity of the horse.

ABOUT THE TREADMILL

EquiGym treadmills include a Dell computer with Windows XP installed for a stable working environment. Our software is easily updated via the internet as we continuously work on our programming. Customized software programming is available.

A touch screen display monitor that displays the speed, distance, slope and the heart rate of the horse in real time numbers and graphs. The touch screen display also has a stop watch. Any collected data can be stored to the hard drive, burned to a CD or saved to a Floppy. The data can be exported into your favorite program via a network card. The system has a high quality Data Acquisition card installed that has both analog and digital capabilities for ad-on diagnostic instruments. These electronic components are installed into a rolling cabinet with plenty of space for notebooks and stop watches.

The Main Control Box is mounted on a wall near the motor and has a PLC keypad and a VFD Keypad that monitors the running status and efficiency of the machine. We can remotely adjust the VFD, through the internet, from our office in Lexington, KY.

The Nord gearbox and Marathon 30 hp. motor is connected in-line with the rear pulley for maximum torque.

The Pulleys are both dynamically and statically balanced to minimize vibration. They are structurally engineered to rotate at high rpms and weigh 735 pounds each. There is a battery operated, self lubricating system installed on each pillow block that hold the pulleys . The pre-filled lube cartridge and battery pack is set to be replaced once per year.

EquiGym has installed a Water Misting System for the top of the belt in order to keep the horses feet cool from the friction of the belt. The water also keeps the top of the belt clean, thereby increasing its life significantly.

Replacing the Belt has been made easy with the new frame design. The belts weighs approximately 575 pounds and can be replaced in a half days work. Our belts have lasted more than four years under heavy use and Horses wearing shoes have very little bearing on the life of the belt.

The hydraulic elevation system allows the machine to elevate to 10 degrees in 20 seconds.

There are five, high quality, two-ton shock absorbers under the plates to stop the "slap-back" effect which occures after each hoof impacts.

EquiGym will provide concrete pit CAD drawings for those interested in placing the traveling surface at ground level. We are also available for free consultation and have recommendations for building functional treadmill rooms.

EquiGym has spent a lot of time engineering and product testing our treadmills so the consumer is assured of the finest quality equipment with proven designs. Our machines do not leave our factory without complete testing with a horse on board.
